Brand + Space Concept

Dos Taqueros are a pair of restaurateurs with a new approach to Mexican American cuisine. To increase investor appeal, they asked Hill+Steed to help them develop a brand identity and architectural concept based on this approach.

Challenge

Create a brand identity and architectural concept that tells a full story, but still leaves room for investors to see themselves as part of it.

Process

Working with Collage Architects, our process included competitive research, cultural analysis, and the identification of related design trends. This included the creation of mood boards to identify three distinct themes to reinforce the characteristics associated with each name pitched.

Solution

Rather than the 'flash' and 'ego' typically associated with the word 'bravado,' the final identity concept combined a stoic disposition with the confident beauty of a desert rose.

Results

The Bravado concept was translated into architectural renderings, which Dos Taqueros used to pitch investors. Unfortunately, the partners behind Dos Taqueros was unable to secure the needed funding.
